Feeling strassy? Ready to shine? Bling it on!
Any way you want to say it, I'm ready to create your custom crystal commission. Check out these Q's and A's, fill out the form below and we'll get started.
What in the world is strassing?
Strassing is the very time consuming process of of covering an object with strass, otherwise known as rhinestones or, in this case, Swarovski® crystals.
What types of things do I strass?
Lots of things! If you're not sure if your item is 'strass friendly', email me a photo and we can take it from there. Or, if there is something else in your life that needs a little sparkle, email me that too (keep it clean). If you are considering shoes and you haven't purchased shoes yet, keep in mind that shoes made of suede, satin, canvas or leather (calf/kid as opposed to patent leather) are the most successful to strass. Patent leather can be strassed, but it is a more complex procedure and there is an up charge. Also pay attention to the design of the shoes. For example, if the shoes have straps that cross, crystals could pop off in time or wear down because of the constant abrasion. If you have an old comfy pair that needs a little loving, I can strass them back to life. Just email me a photo. If you have an idea for something other than shoes, email me and we can discuss it.
Is it possible to change the color of my shoes?
It sure is! There is an up-charge though.
What kind of crystals do you use?
I use Swarovski® brand crystals purchased from an authorized Swarovski® dealer.
Do you provide the shoe or do I?
I DO NOT provide the shoes. You can have them shipped directly from the manufacturer to me as long as we agree on this in the beginning, however, I will not be held responsible if the shoes do not fit you. Since strassing is a bit pricey, I highly recommend that you purchase shoes that you have tried on and send them to me insured with a signature required. I am not responsible for any damage done to the shoes before they get to me or if they are lost. Once I receive the shoes, I will send you an email confirming that I have them and that they are the correct color and size.
I'm famous. Are you going to tell everyone how much I spent on shoes?
Not unless you want me to. (Who are you anyway?)
Am I going to be kept in the loop during the process?
Sure, if you want to be. I can email you photos during the process. Not a problem.
Do you skimp on the amount of crystals you put on the shoes?
Um, no, what a silly question. Why would I? I actually place the crystals very tightly together. If you want more space between the crystals, let me know in advance.
Will the crystals fall off?
Your new strassed shoes are like jeweled pieces of art and need to be handled carefully. If you abuse them or walk on rough or wet surfaces, escalators, drainage grates, etc., it increases the odds of crystals coming off. I understand life happens and crystals can come off. I will include extra crystals just in case. If there is some issue (not including abuse) other than a few coming off over time, please contact me and I will do my best to rectify the situation. Any strassed clothes will have to be hand washed only, they cannot be dry cleaned.
Is shipping included in your pricing?
No. The customer pays shipping the shoes to me and shipping the shoes back to them. I usually ship using USPS Priority or FedEx. The shoes will be sent back to the customer insured with a signature required and tracking will be provided. If you need a shipping estimate, I can give you one. If you need expedited shipping, I can arrange that.
Do you ship internationally?
I sure do! Since shipping rates vary, I can give you a quote at the time you place your order. Keep in mind, sometimes packages get 'stuck' in customs for a while. Once the package leaves me, I can no longer control what happens to it. I am not responsible for any extra charges, duty or VAT that you may incur.
Can I return the shoes after they have been strassed?
No, sorry, there are no returns or exchanges as this process is 100% custom work. That is why it is soooooo important that you try on the shoes and are happy with them before you send them to me. I do want you to be happy though, so if some issue comes up, I will do my best to resolve it.
How long does it take?
The strassing process is very time consuming since each individual crystal is applied by hand and there are usually well over a thousand crystals on a pair of shoes. The scheduling really depends on the design, my current orders, whether I have the crystals in stock, etc., but you can plan on 2-6 weeks. If you have a rush situation, or a larger quantity order, send me an email and I can give you a better idea on the time based on my current order situation. There will be an additional charge for rush orders if I am able to accommodate a rush order at all. The time frames are for my strassing work only and starts when I receive your shoes. Please allow extra time for shipping (both directions) and any design/planning stage (this is mostly for custom designs).
What forms of payment do you accept?
I can accept most major credit cards and PayPal.
All PayPal orders will be shipped to the address registered to the confirmed and verified PayPal account.
I will also accept a personal check, however, no work will be started until the check clears. If a personal check is used for the final payment, no products will be shipped until the check clears.
If you are local, I will accept cash, however DO NOT send me cash in the mail.
Do you offer a layaway program?
I can do a layaway program for you if you really need one, however, it is probably better for you if you simply stash away some money and save up on your own. That way, if something happens is your life where you need the extra money, you will have it. If you are adamant about a layaway program, I will require the full amount before I start any work. Feel free to email me about a layaway program that works for both of us.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. Once we agree on the price and design, I will require a 50% deposit in order to start work. ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Once your shoes are completed, the order must be paid in full before I ship your lovely new shoes. Usually, I will contact you when I am getting close to completing your order so you can schedule your final payment.
Do you charge sales tax?
Sorry Florida residents, you are the only ones who get charged sales tax.
I'm not sure what color crystal I want. Can you send me a sample?
I sure can. There may be a small charge depending on the color and quantity of crystals you need.
Will you strass replicas or knock-offs of other brands?
No.
Will you post photos of my shoes on your website?
Most of the time I will post photos of a client's shoes/item, however, I will not post prices or names. If you do not want your shoes to be shown on the website, please let me know.
Do you do repairs?
Yes. If you are the original owner of an item that I strassed, I will do a repair for free for the first year you own the item. Customer pays for shipping both ways. If you are not the original owner, or it is an item I did not strass, send me a photo and I will give you a quote on a repair.
I have another question, but I can't think of it right now.
Happens to me all the time. Email me when you remember.
Okay, I want a pair. Now what?
First, email me a photo of the shoes you would like to have strassed. If you do not have a pair in mind and/or are thinking of a custom design, just contact me and we can come up with some ideas.
Second, choose the color of the Swarovski® crystal you would like. Also let me know if the shoes need any repairs or color changes.
Third, I will give you a quote.
Fourth, if you are happy with the quote, send in a 50% non-refundable deposit and I will get started.
Fifth, I will keep you posted with photos by email and once the item is finished, you can send in the balance due. Once I receive the balance, I will ship your item.
Sixth, enjoy your sparkly item!
